Raphael Santiago: There's a legend... of a vampire who lives in hiding in the sewers of New York. They say he's the oldest vampire in the city, maybe even the world. No one I've met has even heard of his name, let alone seen his face. If there's someone who knows of these kinds of things... it would be him.
Simon Lewis: How do you know this guy actually exists?
Raphael Santiago: Aren't all the legends true?
Raphael Santiago: It was an experiment to become a Daylighter. You know how you care about Max and your family? 60 years ago, I was ripped away from Rosa... and my family. I just wanted a piece of my old life back: to be with Rosa... to watch the sun rise, and... to be normal.
Izzy Lightwood: So you were willing to let someone else go through all this pain so your life could be better? I thought I knew you. I won't report your crimes to the Clave... on one condition: leave the city. Tonight.
Raphael Santiago: The night he left he, um... snuck into your room, and... gave you one last hug.
Rosa Santiago: I don't remember.
Raphael Santiago: Oh, no. He... he did! He did. He couldn't say why. And it broke his heart to leave. And he promised you if you ever felt lonely, all you had to do is look up at those stars... and know that your big brother was out there, thinking of you.
Magnus Bane: I practically raised you. I can read you like an open book, in all capital letters. Who is this tranquilizer really for?
Raphael Santiago: It's for me. Rosa's not doing so well. And the thought of losing her, my last living relative, is... I can't sleep.
Magnus Bane: The Queen is simply a woman with a strong point of view.
Luke Garroway: Does that "strong point of view" differ from breaking the Accords? Because last time I checked, war with the Clave was the order of the day.
Raphael Santiago: Unless Valentine succeeds in raising Raziel, kills everyone with demon blood first.
Magnus Bane: In which case, she'd like to offer the entire Downworld protection in the Seelie Realm.
Simon Lewis: Why is this happening to me? I'm a good guy. I'm an organ donor. I was an organ donor. Do we still give organs as a vamp...
Raphael Santiago: Simon. Get a hold of yourself.
Raphael Santiago (to Izzy): Do you remember the shame you felt when your brother found us together... my fangs in your arm? All it takes is one moment of weakness, and we'll be back there. I'm bad for you, Isabelle.
Raphael Santiago: Why are you panicking?
Simon Lewis: I'm not panicking.
Raphael Santiago: It's true, isn't it? You're a daylighter?
Simon Lewis: There's a name for it?
Raphael Santiago: I’m… not like that. I’m just not interested in sex.
Isabelle Lightwood: Being a vampire made you this way?
Raphael Santiago: No. I’ve always been like this.
Raphael Santiago (about Izzy): There’s something about her… I haven’t felt this way in a long time.
Magnus Bane: You’re so hooked on her blood, you can’t separate your feelings from your addiction.
Raphael Santiago: Isabelle and I are no different from you and Alec. And I thought you of all people would understand.
Magnus Bane: If you truly believe that… see if you still feel the same when you’re not getting high.
Meliorn: This council is biased. You’ve all allowed yourselves to become too involved with the Shadowhunters. Jocelyn Fairchild. (looks at Luke) Alec Lightwood. (looks at Magnus) And you. (looks at Raphael) You’ve been seeing Isabelle, haven’t you?
Raphael Santiago: What are you talking about?
Meliorn: I’d recognize that perfume anywhere.
Raphael Santiago: It contains Camille’s grave dirt.
Magnus Bane: Grave dirt? I thought maybe diamonds, or that gold ring she stole from Cleopatra’s tomb.
Simon Lewis: So we’re excited about a box of dirt. Anyone wanna clue me in?
Magnus Bane: If you have a vampire’s grave dirt, you can use it to summon them.
